Despite a 13-point lead entering the fourth quarter, the Patriot Pioneers lost to Brooke Point’s girls basketball team 54-53 Thursday at home in Bealeton.
After falling behind 16-13 in the first quarter, Patriot built a 24-20 lead at halftime and a 45-32 advantage at the end of the third period, but the Black Hawks finished on a 22-8 run to drop the Pioneers’ record to 3-2.
Caitlin Blackman led Patriot with 16 points (6-for-8 free throws), while Lauryn Moore had 11 and Taylor Booker had 10 on 4-for-6 field goals, including 2-for-3 3-point shooting.
Raigan Booker led with eight rebounds and three blocks, while Blackman had six rebounds, five steals and four assists. Nyah Prince added four assists and four rebounds, while Moore had three steals and Naomi Hanton had three assists.
