The Prince William Board of Supervisors approved on Tuesday, June 25, a total of five road projects as part of a $396 million bond issue that will go before voters Nov. 5.

The list was pared down from the 11 projects originally proposed for the bond referendum.

The new list places a priority on Va. 28, and would direct $200 million in new borrowing to a proposed bypass that would extend Godwin Drive through an undeveloped area behind subdivisions in Manassas. That project is still undergoing an environmental evaluation.

In total, the supervisors are proposing $355 million in borrowing for the five road projects, which are detailed here.

The list does not include the controversial $70 extension of Van Buren Road through the Four Seasons and Cardinal Grove subdivisions, which several residents of those areas opposed.
