Birmingham Green is still off-limits to visitors because of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has hit the Manassas-based nursing home and assisted living facility particularly hard.

So its staff members found a unique way for friends and family members to spread some love this Father’s Day: a car parade.

On Saturday, friends and family members decorated their cars and vehicles and circled the parking lot to wave to residents who were able to sit outside for the occasion.

"We've been doing a great job of keeping our residents' spirits up during these times of social distancing, and we think this parade will really show the dads in our community that they are loved and are very special," said Birmingham Green CEO Denise Chadwick Wright.
