With the lighting of its Christmas tree Friday night, Old Town Manassas is ready for the holiday season.

A chilly rain and city officials' encouragement to watch from home due to the pandemic kept the crowd smaller than usual for the annual tree-lighting ceremony.

Still, Santa and Mrs. Claus braved the weather to light the tree accompanied by several dozen residents, some of whom kept their distance by watching from the parking garage.
