Generic police lights

A 57-year-old Manassas woman was killed in a one-car crash early Sunday morning on Va. 28 outside Calverton, according to the state police.

Amy Louise Hough was driving north on Va. 28, about 50 feet north of State Route 643, when she apparently lost control of her 2006 Nissan Armada.

The SUV veered off the right side of the road and struck what police called a “dry-bulk trailer” parked on the side of the road, according to Sgt. Les Tyler, a spokesman for the state police.

The wreck was reported to police by a Fauquier County Sheriff’s deputy at about 2:45 a.m. Sunday, July 1.

Hough died at the scene as a result of her injuries. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, Tyler said.
