First Friday-Battle of the Bands: 6 to 9 p.m. Old Town Manassas. Local bands will compete in a Battle of the Bands at Harris Pavilion as part of downtown Manassas’ First Friday celebration. The lineup includes Osbourn Park Jacket Jazz at 6 p.m., Pomegranates on Fire at 6:20 p.m.; LaQuinn / Chronic Royale at 6:40 p.m.; 1 Identity at 7 p.m.; Trae Sheehan at 7:20 p.m.; Trio 111 at 7:40 p.m.; The Harden Blues at 8 p.m.; and Mars Rodeo at 8:20 p.m.

Potomac Nationals vs. Lynchburg Hillcats: 7:05 p.m. Pfitzner Stadium, 7 County Complex Court, Woodbridge. Mystery giveaway to first 750 fans. Kids run the bases after the game.

The Haymarket Museum is located in downtown Haymarket.

Historic Walking Tour of Haymarket: 7 p.m. Join local historians for a walking tour of Historic Haymarket. Haymarket Town Hall, 15000 Washington St., Haymarket.

Music and Movies on Mill: 6-8 p.m., River Mill Park, 458 Mill St., Occoquan. Enjoy a concert by rock band Up All Night as part of the summer Music & Movies on Mill series. Events are held on the first Fridays and third Saturdays of the month through the summer. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair to enjoy the show. Free.

Saturday, June 8

Family Day-Flags: Noon-3 p.m. Celebrate Flag Day at the museum. National Museum of the Marine Corps, 18900 Jefferson Davis Highway, Triangle. Free and open to the public.

Potomac Nationals vs. Lynchburg Hillcats: 6:35 p.m. Pfitzner Stadium, 7 County Complex Court, Woodbridge. Fireworks after the game. Kids run the bases after the game.

Taste of Woodbridge: 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center, 15201 Potomac Town Place, Woodbridge. Free to attend, tasting tickets $1 each.

Colgan High School Musical Theatre Concert: 2 p.m. For all ages. Montclair Community Library, 5049 Waterway Drive, Dumfries. Free.

Saturday Farmers Market: 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Commuter Car Park, 9024 Prince William St., Manassas.

12th Annual Duck Splash: 2 to 3 p.m. Patriot Scuba, 305 Mill St., Occoquan. Adopt a rubber duck from Patriot Scuba for $5 and watch it race along the Occoquan River with hundreds of other ducks. Prizes awarded for the winning ducks. Proceeds benefit Patriots for Disabled Divers.

Crescent Cinema: Movie begins at dusk. Marketplace at Madison Crescent, U.S. 29 and U.S. 15, Gainesville. Catch an outdoor screening of “Smallfoot” in Crescent Park, behind the Harris Teeter. All children under 12 must be supervised.

Warrior Ride: 7:30 a.m. to noon. The Farm Brewery at Broad Run, 16015 John Marshall Highway, Broad Run. Second annual Warrior Ride to benefit Serve Our Willing Warriors. Four races to choose, along with live music, a family zone, food and craft beer.

Belmont Bay Harbor Marina Concert: 6 to 9 p.m. Belmont Bay Harbor Marina, 570 Harbor Side St., Woodbridge. Bring a blanket, a lawn chair, and a cooler to enjoy the show.
