American Festival Pops Orchestra Holiday Concert: 8 p.m. Hylton Performing Arts Center, 10960 George Mason Circle, Manassas. Celebrate the holidays at the Hylton Center with the American Festival Pops Orchestra’s annual holiday concert, which has become a cherished tradition. This uplifting evening promises favorite classics like Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride” and “A Christmas Festival,” the ever-popular carol sing-a-long, and fun musical surprises. Special guest artists join conductor Anthony Maiello as he leads Northern Virginia’s very own pops orchestra in a treasured holiday celebration. It is a surefire way to put everyone in your family—even a scrooge—into the holiday spirit! $33.

Second Annual Jolly Ol’ Confections: 6-9 p.m. Historic Downtown Manassas, 9201 Center St., Manassas. Visit the multiple shops in Historic Downtown Manassas and enjoy unlimited samples of desserts created by our local restaurants. After tasting all of the desserts, be sure to vote for your favorite! Dessert Taster Passes may be purchased at participating merchants for $10 cash or $11 card. You will receive a taster pass and voting ballot. All dessert  tastings are while supplies last.

Holiday Concert: 1:30 p.m. National Museum of the Marine Corps, 18900 Jefferson Davis Highway, Triangle. Featuring the Quantico Marine Corps Brass Band. Free and open to the public.

7th Annual Nokesville Christmas Parade: 4 p.m. Fitzwater Drive, Nokesville. The 7th Annual Nokesville Christmas Parade and celebration, presented by Friends United Nokesville. The parade begins at Brentsville District High School and travels along Fitzwater Drive to the Nokesville Church of the Brethren.

Santa’s Lake Ridge Parade: 11 a.m. Tacketts Mill, 2228 Tacketts Mill Drive, Lake Ridge.  This annual parade kicks off the broader WinterFest event in and around Lake Ridge and Occoquan. This year’s parade theme is “Christmas Around the World.”

Santa Comes to Rippon Lodge: 1-3 p.m. Rippon Lodge, 15520 Blackburn Road, Woodbridge. Bring your cameras for photos with Santa and enjoy outdoor family friendly activities.

Civil War Christmas: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Leesylvania State Park, 2001 Daniel K. Ludwig Drive, Woodbridge. Music, costumed interpreters, Civil War-era Santa and refreshments. $2 per person, $6 per family. 

 Dumfries Christmas Parade: Noon-3:30 p.m. Town of Dumfries, 17739 Main St., Dumfries. 

The Dumfries Christmas Parade will step off at noon on from Main Street and end at Dumfries Shopping Center. There will be food, music and fun for everyone at the shopping center during and after the parade. This year's theme is a 'Nutcracker Christmas'. The Christmas Tree Lighting will begin at 5  pm back at Main Street. in front of the new Town Hall building at 17739 Main St. Bring the kids out to enjoy Santa, Mrs. Claus, more song, a Christmas story, goodies and hot cocoa as the Christmas Tree is lit.

 City of Manassas Holiday Market: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Manassas Museum Lawn, 9101 Prince William St., Manassas. City of Manassas Farmers Market is Hosting a Holiday Market for your holiday gift and food shopping. Come out and shop the Market while listening to Christmas music with a hot drink and shop local.

 Holidays of the Past at Liberia House: 4-5 p.m. Liberia Plantation, 8601 Portner Ave., Manassas. Discover how the holidays have been celebrated and see the latest restoration efforts at this historic gem. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7.50 for ages 12 and under.

 Sunday, Dec. 9 

“A Christmas Carol, the Musical: 8 p.m. A holiday tradition for the entire family. Center for the Arts, 9419 Battle St., Manassas.” Tickets available. 

Carriage Rides in Historic Downtown Manassas: 1-4 p.m. Manassas Visitor’s Center, 9431 West St., Manassas. Free.

Vienna Boys Choir: 2 p.m. Hylton Performing Arts Center, 10960 George Mason Circle, Manassas. Tickets $33. One of the most revered boys choirs in the world presents its popular Christmas concert at the Hylton Center. 

 

Holidays through the Ages: 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Rippon Lodge, 15520 Blackburn Road, Woodbridge.  

Seasonal celebrations of the past, tours, light refreshments. Dress in appropriate attire and comfortable shoes for walking.
